Widows & Elderly Ministry

Human nature in general is the same everywhere, some families taking good care of their aging parents and grandparents, some not wanting that responsibility. For the most part, the people of India take care of their elderly, but there will always be some who do not. Out of a population of 1.2 billion people, if only 1% of the population is elderly people not being cared for properly, that would be 12 million people! These are the ones the Lord has led us to find and give them some assistance in their older years. 

This ministry to widows and elderly now (April '24) has about 100 members from more than 15 different cities, towns and villages, at least 10 different pastors helping us to carry out the ministry. Praise the Lord! When we think of a "widow", we often only think of those who are elderly, both men and women (more than 90 on our lists being women). We currently have about 12 or 13 widows and 1 widower below the age of 50 whom the Lord has us assisting, all of them having children. 

RHM is helping widows and elderly with medical needs, food, monthly support, and if funds are available, operations and house repairs. Another main priority toward all those within this ministry is to encourage them and help them to grow in Christ.

So happy to be a part of our Father's great love for the widows & elderly! "Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our GOD and Father is this: to visit the orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unspotted by the world." James 1:27 

One of Job's great qualities is also one of the goals of this ministry, "...And I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy." Job 29:13
